Icons Only examines the lives of multiple extraordinary women of the 20th century and beyond through the lens of musical theater songwriting. Each song takes the perspective of a different change-maker on the verge of her biggest breakthrough - which, at the time at which the song is sung, could also be her biggest future failure- to unearth unexpected similarities across different generations of boundary-breakers.
